Giving Back Blog Hop

If you are looking for the Card Creating Sundays post click here.

Welcome to the Giving Back Blog Hop! We wanted to give back to the person who has given so much to us! So, this is in honor of Erica from My Cricut Craftroom.

You should have come from Shelly Lynn's blog.  If you are starting at my blog, you will want to start with Kat’s Blog so you don’t miss any of the great layouts. When you get done hopping, you will want to go to Erica’s Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/EricasCraftRoom) and leave a comment on her page. We will be randomly selecting someone from those comments to win blog candy.

I have to say that I am very new to scrapbooking but knew I wanted to participate in this since Erica does so much for her Design Team.  I thought I would make a page for her and her daughter Bella.  It's a simple 8×8 layout.  I used Forever Young cricut cartridge for the cut out.  The glitter paper is really purple and pink although the pink looks a little red in these pictures.

My Cricut Craft Room – Card Creating Sundays

It's My Cricut Craft Room's Card Creating Sunday!!

One of my favourite days with My Cricut Craft Room.  Here's the card I made today.  Can you guess where the sentiment is from??

P1010673

P1010674

I used Create a Critter cricut cartridge for the monkey.  I just love that monkey!!  I also used a fancy paperclip from Wal-Mart to hang the monkey from.  The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Breast Wishes stamp set.

Gift Card Holder with Birthday Bash

Theme Day Thursday

Today's theme is Birthday/Party.  My project today is super simple!!!  I needed a quick gift card holder for a friend's daughter.  I saw this cute hippo in the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge and thought I would venture out and give it a try.

I also didn't to want to put on too many embellishments as it's for a young child who will probably rip it or crush it.  So here it is…

P1010677

I also used My Creative Time's gift card holder and gift card sentiments stamp set.

My Cricut Craft Room’s Festive Friday

Festive Friday Christmas

Last Festive Friday I created a Halloween Card so this time I decided to create a Christmas Card.

P1010648

I used the Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite Cartridge.  How cute is she!!  I believe she is cut out at 3-3/4" but don't quote me as I forgot to write it down!!  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

I also have to mention the "naked" buttons for Paula over at More Than Favors.  She is not a big fan of "naked" buttons.  In fact I was part of the Naked Button Blog Hop to show her what you can do with "naked" buttons!

Make sure you stop by My Cricut Craft Room to see with the other Design Team members have created for you today!!

My Cricut Craft Room’s Card Creating Tuesday

Card creating tuesday

This is one of the favourite days for the Design Team.  Who doesn't love to make a card!?!  Here is my card for today…

P1010646

P1010647

I used my gypsy for this project.  The apples are from Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge and were cut at 1.59 and the fence is from Wrap It Up Cricut Cartridge and was cut at 3.24.

I also used My Creative Time's Build a Banner Kit and Anyday Bingo & Crossword stamp set and hung the banner on some Divine Twine.

Here's a quick tip that I used for this card.  Both the apples and the fence are separately on two previous cards.  When I am creating a project using the cricut I tend to use scrap pieces to make my cuts.  If the piece is large enough (or if you want you can use a full size piece of paper) I make sure to fill up that piece with the cut outs.  So for the apples I had enough room to make six on one the piece of scrap papers I used.  I only used three apples for the first card that I was working on but was able to save the other three apples for a later use.  Same with the fence…I made two of them at the same time but only used one for the original project and I used the other one for this project.  It's great to have some cuts on hand!

My Cricut Craft Room’s Would You Ever Guess Wednesday!

Would you Ever Guess Wednesday

On Wednesdays the design team tries to show you different ways to use your cartridges. We might use a cake cartridge in our regular Cricut and show you how to make a paper creation with it. We might use just the feature keys on the cartridge to show you some extras that people forget about.

If you look at the back of the cartridge it shows you all of the 'put together' images. But there are always bonus 'features' they may be a font or a phrase or even a tag, card or icon. We just like to keep you guessing what will be next on Wednesdays.

Today I used the Holiday Cakes cake cartridge to make this Halloween Card.
